Azimuth Check Week 30

As you start this week off, imagine a time in the past week, month or year where you failed – either as an individual or as a member of a team. Ask yourself the question that not many people want to hear the answer to – “What was my ownership in this failure? What did I do or not do that led to this failure?” Take a hard look at your part and understand what could have been done differently. There’s nothing wrong with taking the failure apart and understanding its root causes – but the important part is holding yourself accountable – and then moving on. Beating yourself up – or taking it out on your teammates – isn’t the way to react to failure. Accepting the failure, learning from it, and not repeating it – that’s the right reaction.
