After Show Notes for Episode 2 with Maj Mike Hefti

This is the episode where we really started the journey of defining Always in Pursuit.

Mike was the perfect guest for this segment - there are people who are organized and can juggle a lot, then there are super humans who put the rest of us to shame. Mike is one of those people. In this episode he tells us some of his tips and techniques he uses to never let a ball drop.

This episode also was important because Mike challenges me - he always has. Just simply saying I’m doing X isn’t good enough “What’s your plan, have you thought about this? What else are you doing at the same time to build momentum?”

It was in the hours, days, and weeks after this episode that I realized simply recording a podcast wasn’t enough. Anyone can bullshit with a guest, record it and put it out there. There must be more depth, and there has to be some value added. So, this episode made me prepare for each episode more so that we could extract a ton of knowledge and insights out of our guests.

Mike did this eloquently throughout the episode. I’ve probably listened to it 6-7 times now and there are still things I write down and think about. It’s packed with that much good content.

What still fascinates me about Mike is his ability to process information, which he talks about in the episode. Taking large amounts of information, simplifying it, then applying it in your own life and in the lives of others through mentorship or guidance has to be practiced and refined.

It blows my mind at how well he does it now. I can’t imagine where he will be with the ability in 20 years.

I hope you enjoy these show notes, and that they inspire you to listen to the episode again or for the first time. It’s an hour well spent!
